Position Summary
The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing high-volume payroll transactions while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely employee payments. This role requires a highly organized professional who can manage multiple deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and provide outstanding internal customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high-volume payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Review, audit, and validate timesheets, attendance records, and payroll inputs
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, bonuses, overtime, deductions, and commissions
- Maintain employee payroll records and update payroll information as needed
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Assist with payroll tax reporting, garnishments, and benefit deductions
- Process new hires, terminations, and payroll adjustments
- Reconcile payroll reports and identify discrepancies for correction
- Support month-end and year-end payroll activities
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Partner with HR and Accounting teams to ensure seamless payroll operations
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience
- Experience handling high-volume payroll in a multi-employee environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll practices, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
